About Pilgrim

We always wanted a Single-cut guitar that would maintain the 50's / 60's character but would also provide the ability to order with the option of 24 frets. So there it is. Classic Vibes with added features that BMC guitars are known for. Best tonewood selection, quality hardware, compound radius fretboard, easily adjustable truss rod, asymmetric wound pickups, artistic inlays and the feel and playability you love!

Bridge

Choose Between the classic design ABR direct mounting style and a Solid Titanium Nashville style bridge. While the ABR style follows tradition, our Titanium bridge comes with a modern approach, that provides a different yet equally good tonal character. Both Bridges enhance sustain and work exceptionally well.

Tonewoods

You can choose between several options of tonewoods to create your unique Pilgrim guitar. You may go with our base specs if you like being traditional or you may experiment, using exotic and unique pieces. Most of the available combinations work well and will bring some character into the "mix". Although we respect your need to experiment with your dream guitar, our experience in guitar building has shown that it is best to lean towards some combinations yet avoiding others. In any case, we are here to discuss your need and talk about what works well concerning the vibration of the instrument.

Pickups

The Pilgrim pickups may be anything you know and like. However, If you prefer to go with our own BMC made pickups you will get a great set of pickups designed and built for versatility. The Pilgrim Pickup set consists of two hum-bucking pickups featuring mismatched hand wound coils. The coils are made differently to each other, in a way that leads to a pickup with an airy yet musical character. Our way of making pickups assures that there is no roof concerning dynamics. Rich harmonic content, airy highs, focused mids and and tight lows. The pickup cover material is Raw nickel and the default lead wire is the old style braided cloth wire that was used back in the days.

Inlays

Pilgrim features the BMC butterfly inlays. You may choose between several kinds of inlays or no inlay at all. Be creative and choose what you like best. If you want to personalize your Pilgrim more, you may ask us to create customized inlay work. A BMC Pilgrim has to be yours in any way ! All classic '59 style inlays are also available.

Electrics

You have the option choose the controls of your guitar. You may go traditionally with an independent volume and tone for each pickup, or you may choose a modern overall volume and tone controls. In any option you will get a Paper in Oil capacitor, a switchcraft jack and a 3 way toggle that ensure long life problem-free use. If you need more you may add push-push or push-pull potentiometers to get parallel or coil tap options, when 5 lead wire pickups are used.
